3 Things You Should Know About Ceramic Coating
You’ve just bought a new (or, at least, new to you) car. You’re in love. This thing drives like a dream, and makes you look like a million bucks as its driver.
Now what? Now, if you’re wise, you protect that dream car as soon as possible. One of the most effective ways to protect your new vehicle is with ceramic coating. Today we’re going to talk about 3 important aspects of ceramic coating that you need to know as a consumer.
1. Ceramic coating performs best when it is installed by a professional.
This is not to knock car enthusiasts, but for a ceramic coating installation to be successful there are several steps that need to be done prior to the actual installation. Additionally, a professional ceramic coating installer will be using a coating product that you cannot find on a local store shelf.
Most car enthusiasts won’t have access to the products and tools needed, and many haven’t learned the skills to perform the service correctly for themselves. As a result, they are often disappointed by their results.

2. Preparation is everything.
As mentioned, there are several detailing steps which should be done prior to installing a ceramic coating. For most cars, some level of paint correction (completed with a machine polisher) is necessary. The purpose of this step is to remove or reduce surface scratches and swirls before locking in the clear coat with ceramic coating.
Even in the case of a brand new vehicle, a light machine polish is highly recommended to prepare the clear coat to fully adhere to the ceramic coating. When you are quoted for a ceramic coating service with Let’s Roll, these preparatory steps are included in your service.
3. Ceramic coating is not a maintenance-free protection option.
One of the biggest appeals of ceramic coating is that it makes maintaining your vehicle much, much easier. It creates a hydrophobic surface (repels water) and also helps prevent bug guts from attaching themselves permanently to your clear coat.
All that said, it is still necessary to clean your car. While car shampoo isn’t always necessary, at least a good rinse-off regularly will allow your ceramic coating to perform at max capacity, and keep your vehicle in that bright and shiny condition you love.
