There are a lot of detailers out there. Each one seems to do things a little differently, including how they define their services and how their pricing is structured. No wonder clients in the market for a good detailer are overwhelmed and confused.
We have put together a few qualifying questions we think you should ask yourself when making your decision. We hope these will help ensure that you are treated fairly and receive quality results for your car— which is likely one of your largest investments. Here we go!

1. Are they running a real business?
This one might be an unpopular opinion, but we’re standing by it. For most consumers, it is much safer to work with a detailer who runs a legitimate and legal business. This includes being registered with the government, paying taxes (income and sales tax where applicable—Kansas requires sales tax be collected and paid on the maintenance of personal property), and being fully insured.
A detailing business who is taking their work seriously is more likely to serve their clients fairly. They’re also more likely to be in existence the NEXT time you want your car detailed, as they’ve built a stable foundation to remain in business for more than one season.
2. Are they asking questions and listening to you?
This point is especially important in the world of high-end detailing (paint correction, ceramic coating, etc). Pay close attention when you first contact this business. Do they offer any kind of consultation, or at least ask some clarifying questions over the phone, before shooting you a price? Do they take the time to find out what YOUR concerns are with your vehicle? Your detailer should be able to listen carefully to your needs, examine your vehicle closely, and give a service recommendation with accompanying pricing.
3. Are they doing good work?
No detailer, or craftsman of any kind, is perfect. However, you should be able to discern by reading reviews and checking out social media accounts whether a business is regularly putting out high quality results. This is also a great place to find out what their customer service is like, from the mouths of previous clients.
As I mentioned, there are a lot of detailers out there. If you find us to be the right fit for you, we would love to take care of your car. However, if we are not the right fit (which does happen, especially since we have a specialty), we hope these questions are helpful to you in your search.
